Gautam Adani News: Now Adani's eye on many railway stations including Delhi-Mumbai after airports
The Adani Group, led by veteran industrialist Gautam Adani, is rapidly expanding in the field of infrastructure. Especially in the airport sector, it has spread its feet fast. After Mangaluru, Lucknow and Ahmedabad, now Mumbai Airport has also been taken over by his company Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL). The company has bought a 23.5 per cent stake in Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL). It is also purchasing a 50.5 per cent stake in GVK Group. Thus AAHL's stake in Mumbai International Airport Limited will be 74%. With this, it will get the rights to develop the airport in Navi Mumbai.
How many airports have been commanded
The Adani Group acquired Mangaluru, Lucknow and Ahmedabad airports from AAI late last year. By July this year, it will also acquire Jaipur, Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram airports. The Adani Group will develop, manage and operate these 6 airports for the next 50 years. In this way, Adani Group is going to become the largest airport operator in the country in terms of number of airports. However, GMR is the largest airport operator in the country in terms of passenger numbers. It has IGIA in Delhi, Mopa Airport in Hyderabad and Goa.
Now watch at railway stations
After the airports, Adani is now focused on railway stations. 10 firms, including Adani Group company GMR Enterprises, have bid for the redevelopment of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) railway station under the Rs 1,642-crore project. This railway station is included in the UNESCO Certified Global Heritage List. According to the Indian Railway Station Development Corporation (IRSDC), the development of this railway station will be done in different phases in four years.
Also ahead in the competition of rejuvenation of Delhi station
The Adani Group is also ahead in the race for redevelopment of New Delhi Railway Station. The scheme is expected to be completed in about 4 years. About Rs 4,925 crore is estimated to be spent on this project. Not only the station, the surrounding places will be changed in a new way. The government recently called for a Request for Qualification (RFQ) to find out whether private companies are willing to redevelop the railway station in this manner. Nine international and national level companies participated in this process, including GMR, Omaxe and Adani Railways.
